We are a dental office dedicated to providing our patients with a lifetime of oral health. We hope this blog will leave you with the feeling that our dental office really is special and is here to help you achieve this end.

Snoring and Sleep Apnea - The not so silent killers

Is snoring bothering you?Recently we were working with a man with severe snoring problems. His snoring was so loud he and his wife had resorted to sleeping in separate bedrooms. As he realized his treatment was likely to be successful, he agreed to follow through with it under one condition. We were not to tell his wife he had stopped snoring.

It's Never Too Late

iphoneThose of you who have an iPhone know they come with a little app in the form of a yellow note pad. I use it a lot. Starting years ago, I would enter the name of a book I wanted to read, or a movie I wanted to see, and I had a running list going. Or the idea of a Christmas or birthday present would come to mind and noted. There would be a website mentioned somewhere I wanted to visit, or a quote I wanted to remember.

Bonding 101

SnowflakesAs I sit here, it is a beautiful Saturday morning with six inches of pristine snow blanketing the ground and a clear blue sky. We often hear of the calm before the storm, but this is the calm after the storm. It is quiet. It is nice. The night's blizzard left a lot of the Northeast clobbered with a huge amount of snow.

Dentistry For Our Kids

Child at DentistAnyone who follows us on Facebook can tell you we at IngeDental really get a kick out of treating kids. Here are a few tips that can make their visits a lot more fun:

  1. Start Young

The best time for a dentist to see your child is somewhere between 1 and 2 years of age. Usually this will be about the time most of the baby teeth are in.

New Year's Resolutions

New Year's Resolution RemindersWell, we are a few weeks into the new year. How is everyone doing with their New Year's resolutions? Chances are you have already begun to break some of your resolutions. It's OK, everyone does it. That's why the gyms are so crowded on January 2 and practically ghost towns on January 31.

Four things a cleaning and exam every six months can save you:

  1. Save you time: The time it takes for two cleanings and exams every year is a fraction of the time it takes for major dental work required because of allowing a small problem become a larger one. In this fast paced society time is valuable. Most major work (crowns, root canals, dentures, and such) require anywhere from two to four visits, each requiring an hour or more. A simple 40 minute cleaning and exam can prevent this.

Callie's Corner

Pumpkin and RhiannonOnce again, Callie takes some of the photos found on our computer monitors (usually enjoyed by all and rarely having anything to do with dentistry), and gives a little background info.

A Great Dental Experience, not Just a Dental Appointment.

It is a great time for dental patients. Modern dentistry can help so many people in so many ways.

As I mentioned in our last post, dentistry is not the same as it was just a few years ago. And who benefits the most from this? You do.
